Author Topic: Jake's modeling/poster services [TOPIC/PRICE CHANGE $1,- ≠ €1,-] [PAGE 9]  (Read 19252 times)

I don't think I would get banned if someone else posted their game on the forums.
You get the goddamn point, do you not?

Maybe I didn't read the topic right, but you said you're willing to be paid to make models.
Do those models include everything he/she needs to export said model into game or have you covered that, honestly if I was doing this I wouldn't model something for someone and expect them to know what to do with it. That's just like giving a baby an unopened can of baby food and expecting him to eat it.

I think you've got a reasonable idea here and I hope it works out for you, but honestly it doesn't look like your models are that good. They're not like terrible or anything, just very plain. I might pay someone $1.50 to make a very nice model that I couldn't do myself easily, but I definitely wouldn't pay for one that simple. I certainly don't speak for everyone, quite a few people (elm comes to mind) would pay for cheap/fast work. But, I think you could get a lot more "business" from people like me if you were more advanced at modeling.

This is a good point. In all likelihood, people who will buy from you will not know how to do this themselves (because if they did know how to get it ingame chances are they would know how to model too)

I can get a model in game, that doesn't mean that the model looks decent. Am i'm pretty sure Jake is giving the final textured .dts file, the only work would be to code it in, and he isn't being paid to get it in game.

Hell, I wouldn't expect him to even export it as a .dts. Hes said nowhere that he would.

You have a nice simplistic modeling style.
I enjoy it.

It depends on what the customer wants to have, Chrisbot wanted the .ms3d file for the buttons.
Weapons will be finished and exported as .dts file

It takes little effort.

Even so, it would be nice to add an extra "code" feature for say, $1.50? (stacks with whatever is being requested)
Edit: I'm sure you'll consider it, I mean yes, its not hard to get code from other weapons including the default gun...
But to someone with an inexperienced mind it would take them literally all night if not longer if they were doing it themselves.

I do so if asked, but asking money for copy pasting a script feels like stealing.

I'm shocked no one noticed the problem with the poster prices, the set of five costs three dollars, while ten costs seven.
Shouldn't the ten be lower?

1 Poster - $0.25 $1.00
5 Posters - $1.25 $3.00
10 Posters - $1.75 $7.00

... with this system it would be cheaper to buy 5 + 5 posters rather than 10. Also, who would want 5+ posters of themselves?

Send me pictures in a PM
Well I mean now that I think about it, it could be a few models.  I would need some sort of concept art ready.

I'll get back to you if I'm interested.

neat

i hope you continue doing this

Okay, following up on this, is it possible if you were to make a model based off of concept art, and then send pics and/or use p3d or whatever that viewing program is, and then negotiate further details until this is sorted out?
