7 is possible. kids can handle computers more then.

The interface for building is probably too complicated for a 5 year old to understand.  Think of the kind of games a 5 year old might play and they are going to be learning games or point and click adventures like pajama sam.  7 is a bit closer but at that point still I think if they play blockland it would not be to build, but to join TDMs and such.
