I'm pretty sure he just recorded it slower and then sped it up in a video editor.

I did record it slower, but I still used pathcam.

I really like the island, but the music seems like an odd choice for the subject.
Also, this environment makes everything look bad.

To reiterate, the island is really gosh dang beautiful. If I wasn't so fond of slopes and varied altitudes, (and if my island wasn't going to be so tall as to make the terrain gradients the only thing that would fit in the colorset) I'd try using that terrain style for my own island.
