Author Topic: A phone exploded in my classroom  (Read 3302 times)

So yeah, were in science class doing the usual. But then a boy named Jacob was playing with is phone by tapping it on the desk and then KABOOM the battery exploded right in his hand(he was screaming pretty hard) the fire alarm didn't even go off and there was no fire (fortunately) but it smelled bad. The only thing good about the explosion is that everyone from the classroom had to evacuate to the halls and they couldn't get their books and stuff so whatever they had in there they did not have to do their homework (including me :D) but one of my friend's house key was in there so now he's probably waiting at the doorstep for his mom to come or jumping in from the window. Everyone was panicking, girls were taking photos and posting it on instagram, boys were blaming everything on Al-Qaeda and some people made a theory that Jacob was a terrorist. Shortly after I he went to the nurse and according to rumors he GOT a huge black spot in his hand. Then on the bus it was chaos and gossip everywhere, I think I even heard people saying that the phone had like liquid nitrogen or some sort of chemical (I highly doubt liquid nitrogen). It was terrible :(

I think it overheated or something then it exploded

And apparently his black spot helped it explode or something.

aw dang bad grammer wait

EDIT: fixed

The forget..?

Last time I checked that doesn't happen unless he was an idiot and modified the phone himself.

And apparently his black spot helped it explode or something.
How the forget are you that stupid?

liquid nitrogen

yeah im sure that people carry around -346 to -320F substances for hours without freezing their hands off instantly

people sure are dumb

Yeah it's possible. Extremely rare but yeah, sucks to be him lmao

Phones have Lithium ion batteries, specifically Lithium Hydroxide, which is worse in toxicity on organic material than highly-concentrated Hydrochloric Acid.

> battery exploded
I remembered this video suddenly:
http://youtu.be/fkP-b1ADvbk?t=3m44s
But from what you're explaining I assume it was worse than that.

This probably explains the explosion
