I'm sure it is, if you hold a weapon and hit rotate brick key (I think) it spins the item around in your hand. i can't imagine it'd be that hard.

you could just rotate the model but keep the point from where the projectile is spawned the same

then just make the gun flare on the barrel

Yes, I am certain this is possible, I've seen someone who was able to offset the spray can before, also the hammer.
It's a bit tricky though.
