Author Topic: Got my first request for a job interview  (Read 1530 times)

Okay...

Since July 2013, I've been applying for jobs all over the place.  I've probably sent around 100 applications to many branches of local businesses and restaurant chains, and have been ignored/declined every single time.  So this morning, I scratched out a Craigslist ad on a school computer.  Four hours later, I got a call from Steak n Shake requesting an interview.

I guess I should've done that all along lol

Nice

lucky for me I have pretty good connections. there is a restaurant located a mile or so away from my school and they purposely start accepting applications in May for students from my school. And Im good friends with 3 people who work there who said they could get me a job if I applied

steak n shakes are awesome, man

have fun working there

Congrats, hope you get the job!

interviews don't mean jobs! don't put all your eggs in one basket, keep applying.

Thanks guys.

Well of course it doesn't mean a job.  The whole point is that it's my first interview ever.

Alright, my first interview will be at 5:00pm on Wednesday.  Hoping all goes well.

I'm trying for a job at westgate AMC and if that doesn't work dairy queen is hiring too :3

I'm getting odd but interesting spam texts too.  I'll post the entire log from my most recent one, with all the same grammar.

Depends on what it is.  Keep in mind I'm not quite 18 yet and I'm not traveling far for work (<20mi).  I also cannot work from home.

All replies stopped there.

probably bc of your age
why can't you work from home?

It seems pretty shady.
You find it on craigslist they have bad grammar and stop talking after you say your under 18.

I wouldn't want to work at a fast food joint, but retail jobs are certainly different experiences.
