itunes is utter garbage, if OP has an iphone i think that you can just hook the USB up to the computer and do it manually from there.
nope
iphones don't work like that

whats so bad about itunes. i use it all the time.
1. it takes up more space than it should
2. bloatware (i thought you were better than that, apple!! COME ON!!!)
3. no support for FLAC
4. the library manager is bad
5. can't modify the god awful theme
6. has no plugins
7. the recommendation features are atrocious
8. DRM
9. the quality's just bad (256kbps CBR iirc)

i expected so.

OP, what kind of phone/mp3 player do you have?

Samsung Galaxy S4. Just got it recently through some upgrade deal thingy, so I haven't gotten around to putting any music on it yet.

good deal. look at the post i made for some music reccomendations if you haven't seen it yet

usually 24h+ flights have tv, so it'd be really strange if you didnt have one.

1. if all the ios crap was removed from itunes it would be significantly smaller. itunes carries all the drivers for the i devices so that explains why it's so big.
2. they fixed that crap back in version 11. either you have a poopy pc or you haven't tried out 11 yet.
3. flac is overrated. if you really want that do lossless audio then convert to ALAC. (or use 320kbps MP3)
4. i'll agree this is terrible.
5. i'm not staring at itunes 24/7 so i'm good.
6. for what? so your itunes can make toast and play music?!? all it needs to do is playback music imo.
7. i never see them at all. prolly because i never clicked on them or never seen them
8. don't buy music from the goddamn itunes store.
9. rip cds with exact audio copy. i never buy music from the itunes store because of the crappy DRM and the quality.

if you can find me something that can wirelessly sync all my songs and crap to my phone without itunes (using a S3 with iSyncr), i'll switch to foobar2000 because that program is amazing.

but itunes works flawlessly when it comes to me dumping all my music to my phone without a wire (and a third party piece of software)
