if it's going to become free to play, you can bet your left asscheek that that's a lie
But we can hope and pray it's not

lol arma isn't a loving game, it's a simulator
I've heard that if you want pseudo realism you go to insurgency (game)

I've never played Insurgency but it looks really fun. Red Orchestra 2 is great for pseudo-realism as well.

Some of our outcomes. Please note I'll do a comprehensive posting after we're done with this. We have another meeting Thursday to discuss.

1) We will be selling wearables. We felt like this will be a good, fair revenue generator. However - we recognize how important finding wearables in the world is so you'll be able to find and craft a lot of stuff. We agree that's something important. We've also come up with a pretty awesome idea to let players who kill other players loot stuff. So if a player has a black ski mask and gets killed by another player, that player can wear the ski mask for a few deaths (we have durability in the game. Station Cash wearables won't degrade at all but when you loot something.. it will degrade. Please note the original player always keeps their SC purchased wearables. This gives the great feeling of whacking some unsuspecting fool who decided to bring a knife to a gun fight.

2) We will NOT be selling Guns, Ammo, Food, Water... i.e. That's kind of the whole game and it would suck in our opinion if we did that.

3) Nor will we sell boosts that will impact #2.

4) Emote Pack - of course we'll have the basics for free. But we felt like this is another good and fair revenue generator.

5) Character slots - feels reasonable.

6) Crates - You can find crates sometimes in game. They're filled with random cool stuff from the store. We're considering letting you see what's in them before you buy a key (ala Dota 2.). This idea isn't fully locked yet.

i knew they'd be reasonable about that stuff they've stated that before

There is literally no game play from this game available. I had a hard time finding any real concrete gameplay previews besides that stream

Also the website is complete stuff theres like no info and thats pretty obnoxious

That's because literally what, a week ago, this game didn't exist to the public? I imagine once the early access goes up there will be a lot more info and videos.

wear the ski mask for a few deaths
I............

For forget's sake I swear to god if this game doesn't have a perma death it's going to horribly suck.

I think he meant the ski mask will be kept on your character for a few lives, so when you die you respawn and have a new ski mask and this continues for a few lives or so

Yeah that's not perma death

Yeah that's not perma death
it's just cosmetics holy christ

If you die everything you have is dropped, INCLUDING your cosmetic so other people could pick it up. BUT, when you die you will respawn with JUST your paid item for a certain amount of lives I guess. It's not like it's a gun or something to buy, you buy an cosmetic hat/clothing piece and just so you don't waste your money if you die you'll get a few lives with it. No gamplay effects, if you're that concerned about a simple cosmetic item carrying over on death you'd be better off not even playing a f2p game?

I find this an actually really awesome system if I ever decided to throw some money over. Nothing is worse than buying an item and then dying 20 minutes later and losing it forever. At least for this when you buy a neat cosmetic item you'll have it for a set amount of lives. I also like how you still drop the item so others can pick it up(I think) while you will still get it again.

I think DayZ-styled games got a bad rap. Just because Sergey Titov made War Z doesn't mean that every game using this style is going to be like Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing.

I'd just wait until it's out.

I think you missed what he said. He said that the people who buy the item get it forever, which ofc I don't have any feelings against because that would be weird for a cosmetic item. But someone picking up a paid item off another player gets it for a few lives. What does this mean for other items? Do ALL items "degrade over a few lives"? This is what worries me.

Pretty sure if a Person who got it off of someone else would have it only for that life.
and then when they die someone else can take it and the person who was killed would respawn without it.
