Do you just learn where places are?
Because really, thats not all there is to Geography. Plus, thats a lot of colouring.

Do you not learn tectonics, or water cycles or geology at all? Because thats what geography was like for me in GCSE and below.
There was colouring, but we also did case studies on earthquakes and volcanoes, and how the land formed.

I'm not saying that it's a useless or dumb subject, but at college level (16-18 year olds, not uni) it's definitely taken as a joke by other subjects where I am, since there's more colouring in it than any other subject besides the arts.

we don't do coloring in Geography either
its more "this landform is labeled A, In the A box write the name of it"

geography does not exist in my school district anymore

any form of maps n stuff is just barely taught inside history classes

My geography teacher said we could color in te maps, but she didn't really care if we didn't. I say didn't because that class is over, and I just got a 100% + the bonus question correct in our last test. :)

it was 15 questions actually

and the last ones like 40
So you didn't fail, you actually got a 93.3%

that's still considered a fail
they tell us we HAVE to get 100% or we retake the test

what the forget i got a 4 on a quiz and still passed

Isn't a 93.3% on a test normally considered an A?

are none of you paying attention?

I was, but in normal circumstances that's unusual. In normal school situations, the options aren't just 100% or 0%.

geography seems to be considered more at home w/ social sciences, stateside at least, and focuses more on the human aspect of the field. geology (afaik) is taught completely separate, as it is a hard science.

That sounds really fair actually. You either get a 100%, or you get a second try to get a 100%.

What are you complaining about here? If a teacher offered me that opportunity I'd really like them.
