the point isn't to figure out how quickly you can type if you don't stop for any reason
the point is to figure out how quickly you do type, normally

I always read over my text and backspace a lot though. And I like to type my own words while looking at the keyboard a bit, not copy down what's on my screen.

I usually press backspace a lot when typing, even the tiniest of details will be erased when I see them. My errors were errors where I used capitalisation wrongly, I tried to come back to them by clicking where they were, but that didn't help, so I just kept going on.
