Team Fortress 2 Walking Sounds

Description

So this add-on is like one of those sound effect things that when you walk it plays a walking sound. But this one uses the walking sounds from Team Fortress 2, but instead of having one main sound for walking there can be multiple like if you walked on wood, ground, and so on. So if you name a brick "Wood" when you step on it it sounds like you are walking on wood, if you step on a brick named "Metal" it would sound like walking on metal. Naming a brick "x" means it will sound like "x". (x = any material from TF2) and so on. I completely see how this can sound stupid to some people like, "What can this be used for?" but I think it would be a pretty neat thing to have.

Yes, these sounds have to be from Team Fortress 2.

*If anyone finds this idea stupid and/or dumb please do not flame this post.

OR it can depend on the color

OR it can depend on the color
Yeah, but if it was dirt (which can be brown) or wood (also brown) how would that work?

Color would be very complicated. Remember there are many colorsets.
Events would probably work but you'd have to event every brick
Or maybe named bricks too would work, any brick named "Grass" would use grass sounds, "Stone" use stone sounds, etc.

Sweet idea, but how would it know that the brick is named "Wood" and play the wood footsteps? Is it even possible?

How about you make it an event like OnPlayerWalk?

Yes, it is possible.

Wasn't there a footsteps mod that had varying sounds for differently colored bricks?

I'm not sure, never heard of it.
If you can find it let me know please.

It doesn't determine the sound based on a specified range of colors as i thought, instead you can event bricks to set their material to things like grass, metal, snow, etc

I think a lot of the sounds are from the Source engine, and i don't think TF2 really changes any of them

This is exactly what I needed, even though it doesn't work with naming bricks, I'll take it.
Thank you.
