Thats too complicated.
thats like saying you dont know the very first president on the world.

No, we don't. Just click with the duplicator and then wand it.
this
Quit being lazy, just wand it.
Get out.
What is so wrong with making a way to do something easier?
Matter of fact I have a recent quote from myself:
You don't like stuff being done easily do you?
I swear on almost everything you say it can be done by doing something stupidly complicated

what exactly is morally wrong about making things easier

people seem to always say things like "you can already do this with ____, just do A, B, and C."
i've seen this at least half a dozen times just today. what the forget is wrong with innovation and ease of use?

Unless it's already super easy to use. It's not like you need to enter 50 million events, it is literally one extra click if you have a wand.

If someone feels like using their time and effort to make a duplicator for this that shaves off 2 seconds (1 if you already have a wand) of a process that occurs fairly rarely, I'm all for it. Unfortunately, people don't have unlimited time and effort, so I'd rather have people's work go into more useful things.

I'm not against the existence of this, it's just that there are better things for people to make.

It'd be just as fast to edit a duplicator to do it than it would to actually do the process manually.

except you only have to edit it once, then you're done forever

Oh god, this would be awful.

What if you lose the dupe? What if you want to dupe it more than once?
Jesus, that would be terrible.

Of course, you'd also have to look at the flaws. It would be level 3 trust only (which means only your own bricks) because that's how the wand behaves, due to abuse issues. Then there's the lag. Clearing a large build can lag. Duplicating a large build can lag. Doing both, seems like a rather large issue. So then it comes down to brick limits on duplication. But what happens when it goes over the limit? Does it break the bricks anyways? What if it caused a chain reaction and destroyed the entire build and only duplicated a chunk of it? You can't just make it only delete what you duplicate, cause then there's floating brick abuse there.

he wants players to be able to play a chess game, he does not want to wand it

Then simply don't use it?
Just because it is made doesn't mean you have to use it.

Are you mentally changelled (I'm actually curious,  not trying to be insulting if you are)? Honesty, it's one extra click. If that's too complex for you I wonder how you're even capable of typing.
The same can be said about the duplicator, you can just make a macro, just because its one extra click to do without it doesn't mean you have to do without it.
Its a suggestion, and a pretty good and useful one.

Also, didn't the Swiss Army Gun have a feature like this?
I can't remember if it only moved one brick, or a whole stack.

-snip-
If it were to be made, it should be with a limit of about 150, of course a preference though.
And if it hits the limit, just simply stop the whole process, and give the player a time-out of 5 seconds to prevent flooding.

Then simply don't use it?
Just because it is made doesn't mean you have to use it.

Did I say it shouldn't be made? No, I didn't.
Did you even take into consideration the very valid points I made? No, you didn't.

Instead, let me thank you for completely disregarding all points I hoped to bring up because you disagree with my stance.

Oh god, this would be awful.

Jesus, that would be terrible.

Instead of deleting the original when it is hit with the cut-n-paste wand, it is deleted when the new bricks are place.  That would eliminate the possibility of accidental deletions.

It only moved one brick. I've tried it before and I ended up with a bunch of floating bricks.
