There are like 100 political scandals a year. Every one of them started as a conspiracy theory.

People who don't understand things use that term in a mocking way to try and demean those that look into the issues.

True, but the reason it is used in a mocking way is because of insane stuff like chemtrails or new world order stuff or "climategate" that is just totally off the wall. Those types of things are more common than theories that actually make sense.

So you just remain close minded for for all things because a few guys wanna believe in reptile aliens living in the center of the earth.

That seems a little irresponsible. A conspiracy theory isn't supposed to have you believing. Its so you do do tour own research and decide for yourself.

...What?
I don't understand how it's close-minded if there's no evidence for such a thing.

Yeah, and most of the time it turns out that there is no conspiracy.
I'm not saying there are no conspiracy theories that come out to be true, but there are far too many crazy ones.
A lot of conspiracy theories involve an impossibly huge cover-up of evidence and number of people that have to stay quiet about the issue their entire lives, and/or some kind of way to just say that anybody that denies the conspiracy is just in on it too. Most of the time, the conspiracy proposed doesn't have any evidence to back it up, which they will link into the supposed evidence cover-up.

Man the sound it makes are so creepy and annoying. I hear then like twice a week.
