Verizon is recently failing at my home internet. Starting from 2.5 weeks ago, I start getting random short outages throughout the day, especially the afternoon. 1 week after that, I get a huge-ass network outage which is 48 hours long. Verizon confirmed that all these problems are their fault. Then finally, the 2-day outage was over, and there were no more afterwards. Whew!
But then my ping got horrible. Hetzner.de used to have a 120-ms. response time, and now it is 200 ms. CBMhost used to have a 60-ms. response time, and now it is 130 ms. Additionally, packet loss is quite high, considering I run a hosting service on the connection.
It's freaking business Internet! It's FiOS (which uses fiber-optic cables all the way to the house); why is my ping extremely high?
Verizon used to be extremely reliable and fast for 2 years, but now they have decided to take a dump on the internet service. All of a sudden.
