Author Topic: what is it like to be in a public school  (Read 3117 times)

I was homeschooled 1st grade and 3-10th grades. This semester is my first 100% public school time since 2nd. It was said that my school is like the worst one in like 50 miles but when I went, the teachers are all pretty understanding and there isn't much bad stuff between students.

I'm unusually quiet (not from homeschooling, I was like that beforehand too) so it is sometimes awkward when you aren't the outgoing one. Public school is so far dumbed down IMO too. I do probably about 20% of the work I did as a homeschooled student and run As through every class.

just a question, when did you start public school?

my school system here is total stuff so i don't really have an accurate viewpoint
my view of public school is that its just a bunch of try-hard thugs with 0 respect who put in 0 effort into their work. like this week we had a vocabulary test in english and we had 30 words to study. test time came around and everyone in the entire 9th grade class except 4 people failed the test. they weren't even hard words, they were 6th grade level.

you learn to hate everyone

a stuffty social gathering for stuffty people

My public school has really good teachers but the asshat students walk all over them. My Math class is right next to the ELA class, so whenever I'm taking a test in Math or ELA I could (very clearly) hear the douchebag students in the other classes making a fool of themselves and pissing the teacher off.

So many stories of kids who think they are the last bastion of intelligence on earth, but yet refuse to talk to people because they think everyone is an ape. Highschool gets better, college is full of people who are trying to get a better life.

i hate public school

I have friends, but still, people will find a way to make fun of you. Ive been made fun of for not being in the right demographic for an artist at my school. By people who aren't in that demographic.

it really depends. my public elementary school was pretty meh but my high school is pretty good.

Same thing at my school. If you aren't Mexican, 5' 11", and good at handball, expect your star fish to be pulled inside out at my school.

its really nice at times, except when you get an incompetent teacher(for an idea of how incompetent, a teacher decided to click on an ad, thinking its a class game, the class kept yelling at her, telling her its an ad, but she said "I KNOW WHAT AHMM DOIN")

in public school you can find used condoms in their water pipes

i like public school. yeah the actual school part sucks but the socializing parts fun. idk what im gonna do with myself after high school tho cause i garantee i wont talk to most of the people i know there afterwards  :cookieMonster:

It doesn't suck
Upsides and downsides
Just don't be an idiot
