Call of Duty pretty much evolved into an arcade shooter over time, either from popularity, development choices, or other crap.
if you want a cod game with more strategy and the god-blessed/forbid realistic aspects Battlefield is the game you're looking for. i'm convinced at this point that Infinity Ward just wanted to go and do their own thing by Modern Warfare. Treyarch is pretty much a follow-up and their zombies is the really only special thing they have in store, and who knows what Sledgehammer will pull out of their asses.
but in my opinion i think Treyarch should take the full reins; Infinity Ward was at their most depressing with MW3 and Ghosts and the only reason people played them was because as soon as a new game is released play time in earlier game's multiplayers fell like a loving rock.
who knows what Sledgehammer will do? they're only really known for helping out the production of MW3. maybe this was the real curveball Call of Duty was looking for.
