Author Topic: can someone help me identify a computer program?  (Read 1553 times)

so every once in a while this thing pops up

that thing in the middle. I have no idea what I do to trigger it. like, seriously, no idea. I don't even know if it's the trackpad or the keyboard or what
the program was there when I got the laptop from my mom's boyfriend
all of the little icons there are shortcuts, except the close and minimize buttons. the majority of them don't point to actual locations anymore, even most of the ones that still have the proper icons

and idk what it is. I've looked through all the lists of programs I can think of but nothing seems to be it

wiNDOWS 98 LOGO
idk what's up with that. the computer had vista to start with and now it has 7. so I have no clue where that is even supposed to lead

does task manager identify the name of the program?

Does it happen when you press alt+tab?

You probably triggered some weird setting in Windows and you're pressing an obscure keybind.

search your "remove programs" list in control panel

I have 112 tasks in that list right now and idk what half of them are for. I can't really answer that

nope, alt+tabbing still does what alt+tabbing is supposed to do
search your "remove programs" list in control panel
that was among the places I've checked

...browser extensions maybe?

also if you don't know what half of them are for and you really want this to stop, you should take the time to research the names
