Author Topic: Controller support  (Read 1432 times)

Certain games have controller support, such as skyrim there needs to be support for blockland
And just so you know, I know that there is a lot of controls, I just want the ability to walk fly fight jump etc. to play games instead of building them and that in the menu you can use the controller on the menu/main menu, I prefer fighting on games with a controller rather then a mouse and keyboard

This exists. Try searching before you request. Also, Blockland is very unfit for controllers because of how many keybinds it has.

There would need to be many modes you can quickly switch between. Which isn't undoable...

This exists.
Where?

iirc Sentry said he once used his XBOX controller to play deathmatches in BL

don't know how he did it though

Torque has controller support. You need a script to use it though, of course:

There hasn't been a fully functional one afaik though. Don't do something like xpadder, that won't be nearly as good as something implemented by script.

How the forget do you aim with one of those things. I never understand you people.

I know right. You tilt the brown townog stick a little and you have a loving spasm and end up turned 90 degrees, you turn back and have another spasm and can never get it where you need it. So you turn down the sensitivity, and now you can aim but it takes like 10 loving seconds because your crosshair moves so damn slow, and then someone's behind you and you have turn around like some paralyzed grandma with arthritis. Mice will always be better for aiming.

For movement, though, I prefer a stick over WASD. I think it has to do with the fact that my first game was a 3D platformer (Super Mario Galaxy - I started playing video games pretty late in life), which used a stick for running, and most of my games either played like that or were 2D platformers. The first time I played a game where you actually had to move the camera, it was on PC, so I got used to a mouse.

I actually quit Portal 2 on PS3 because I REALLY couldn't stand how I couldn't place portals accurately in any reasonable amount of time. Either you shoot it 10m away, or you take two minutes to do it.

yeah moving the camera is a no-no. tho controllers are fun to use in speedkart and just random richarding around

with the joystick of course, have you ever played a shooter?

look for a program called joytokey, it will change your controller inputs to keyboard and mouse inputs

Okay, sorry. I posted that a little while after reading your post so I forgot about that part, but it's still quite a lot.

with the joystick of course
No stuff, he means figuratively. He's saying joysticks are really inaccurate and impossible to aim with. And they are.

It's better than nothing, but it rarely feels authentic with this. It's not as smooth as if you used a script in-game.

Have you ever even heard of bullet magnetism

I already have joytokey, but somtimes my controller freezes

Blockland doesn't have that
