APPARENTLY WE GET TO MAKE STARGATES AND BLOW THEM UP IN THE FUTURE. COOL THINGS.

Eve Online (stylised EVE Online) is a video game by CCP Games. It is a player-driven, persistent-world MMORPG set in a science fiction space setting. Characters pilot customizable ships through a galaxy of over 7,500 star systems. Most star systems are connected to one or more other star systems by means of stargates. The star systems can contain moons, planets, stations, wormholes, asteroid belts and complexes.

Players of Eve Online can participate in a number of in-game professions and activities, including mining, piracy, manufacturing, trading, exploration, and combat (both player versus environment and player versus player). The character advancement system is based upon training skills in real time, even while not logged into the game.

Dust 514 takes place in the same fictional universe as Eve Online, a science-fiction MMORPG set 21,000 years in the future. The Eve Online backstory explains that humanity, after using up the Earth's resources, began to colonize the rest of the Milky Way. The development of faster-than-light travel allowed mankind to expand at an extremely fast pace, leading to violent competition between space-faring corporations. A natural wormhole was discovered, and humanity entered through it to find an empty new galaxy which they began colonizing. However, the wormhole connecting the two galaxies collapsed, leaving the young colonies cut off from the worlds that had supplied them. Without support, many of the colonies in the new galaxy died off, and over time the few that remained lost their knowledge of both their technology and of their origins from Earth. Eventually, a new era began when civilization was rebuilt and faster-than-light travel was rediscovered. Five unique space-faring cultures emerged from the colonies to become the only interstellar powers in the new galaxy.

Eve Online players take the role of capsuleers, who are elite starship pilots made immortal using cloning technology and consciousness transfers. For much of Eve history, only capsuleers were immortal because the technology required to download consciousness was linked to a capsule that encloses them and leaves them in suspended animation. The capsule was designed specifically as an interface for pilots to control the ship that they were placed within. However, the discovery of a special implant made it possible to achieve a transfer of consciousness without the use of a capsule, so it became possible to make immortals that were not pilots. Dust 514 players take the role of immortal ground-based soldiers which were created by the military shortly after the implant was discovered.

CCP announced that they're going to slow down development on dust and move it onto legion at fanfest this year, rip

EVE: Valkyrie (formerly EVE-VR) is a multiplayer dogfighting shooter game set in the EVE universe that uses a virtual reality headset to give the player the sense of being in a real dogfight. Eve: Valkyrie is set to be released on Microsoft Windows and the PlayStation 4 video game console. On Windows it will be a launch title for the Oculus Rift virtual reality head-mounted display. On the PlayStation 4 the game will have support from the PlayStation 4 virtual reality headset, whose working title is Project Morpheus.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for all of your feedback so far. I'd like to answer a few of your questions about DUST 514 and Project Legion directly given the feedback you gave me. I've picked these four points as they are coming up the most on the forums as well as in the live roundtable discussions here at Fanfest.

1) What happens to my character, skills and stuff?

If Project Legion becomes something more than a prototype, we will not leave our DUST 514 players behind. You would be able to bring your character name, applicable skills/inventory, and other elements of progression with you. We are still working on the details and we will have more to announce soon.

2) Are you completely abandoning DUST dev?

No. Without promising too much, we are actively working on stuff like balancing, Planetary Conquest, matchmaking, the in-game economy, and more. And of course we continue to work with the CPM to identify ways to improve the game.

3) Is Project Legion going to have a PS4 version? Or something for consoles?

It is still far too early to discuss platform expansion, as like you saw we are still only working on the PC prototype at this time. But the PC architecture gives us the opportunity to grow once we have a great PC product at hand. For now, though, PlayStation 4 is not something we are working on.

4) When are you going to give us more concrete information on Legion?

Again, Project Legion is still in an early stage of development but the whole idea behind giving a sneak peek at Fanfest is to get early feedback - and I really want to keep this discussion going, show you progress through dev blogs and such and listen to what you have to say.

I actually just saw the trailer today. Mind blown.

man at first it doesnt seem like you get a lot of blueprints from exploration but that wears off pretty quickly

I fly titans. It's so grand <3

well apparently they're freeing up the faction standing requirements for highsec control towers so that will obviously end well

oh and kronos will be the last 6 month expansion, after that it'll be every 6 weeks instead

Yeah I play eve
Im a Gallente player flying a Brutix. I mainly do mining to earn ISK.
Gallente is my favourite, because their ships look better and more symmetrical than the Caldari
Anyway my Favourite Gallente ship is the Erebus and Moros

Ive been trying to afford atleast a Dominix and have some ISK left over to buy supplies when I go mission running, PVE, or Incursions, which I havent done before
anyway I heard there are rules about Capital ships. Can you tell me about them?

i really don't bother with the "rules" but if i recall correctly, you can't fly them in highsec and some stations can't park them. I may be wrong, havn't been higher than 0.2sec in about a year. Otherwise if something happens, i have 3 more and am a decent rank in my alliance to be able to call some guys for assistance, otherwise i really don't know what you're talking about.

capitals (excluding the orca) can't go into highsec but they can dock at any station they have permission to dock at

they also cant use stargates (excluding the orca)

supercapitals can't dock anywhere and can only be built at control towers

there was a nyx in jita during the first burn jita though, since apparently after a really long period of inactivity your assets outside of stations get teleported into a random station in highsec but i'm not sure if that's how it works now (or if that was ever how it worked)

never heard anything like that, it was probably just grandfathered in from the days when caps were allowed in highsec. like chribba's veldnaught - it's been in amarr forever, and as long as he doesn't try and shoot stuff with it he'll be allowed to keep it there.

huh yeah apparently after some more research it looks like a few capitals/supercapitals got left in jita on the condition they would just show up occasionally and be hilarious

Do these rules also apply to the Rorqual?

Do these rules also apply to the Rorqual?
Rorqual can't enter hi-sec, no.
