Yaris (Xbox 360)
First off, let me say I love free games. Doritos Crash Course is an example. Fun and exciting. THIS however, is just false advertisement, crappy game play and controls, and stuffty graphics and design.
The moment you start up the game, you see some giant robotic spider, then the camera zooms out and it's actually small. Then the Yaris comes in and uses a ray...gun...to shoot the spider? (?????) Why is this even a good idea in the first place?
There are a choice of 2 modes, 1 is Single Player, which I'll talk about first. First of all, since when did roads turn into half pipes? Because that's what ALL the stages are. Your objective in each "stage" is to collect coins and get through the level fast. Coins are used to buy upgrades, or a choice of 3 cars that probably have no change with anything except style.
Back to stages. Acceleration and steering are controlled with the left brown townog stick, so no using any of the A, B, X, or Y buttons. The RIGHT brown townog stick is used to control your gun. Let me say, it's way too loving sensitive. It moves all the way around way too quick, and when you're trying to shoot using RT, you barely even shoot the tiny enemies around you.
Speaking of enemies, here's what they are. You have birds, tiny flying robots with ray guns, a...toaster skater and...mexican wrestlers on motorcycles??? What?!
Gameplay is terrible. You either always get hit by something you couldn't see or control, you go way too fast, getting coins is a loving chore, and the game is overall way too hard to loving play.
Then there's 2P mode. It's nowhere as different as 1P mode, all it is is just doing the same thing, fighting for a score. It's awful.
I'm glad the staff at Microsoft delisted this thing in 2010, because I'm pretty sure not a lot of people wanted this. I tried this again yesterday (went through my download history, NOT actually trying to look for this), and I immediately remembered how terrible this game was.
If you ever got this, I feel sorry for you. If you didn't, be GLAD you didn't.
I honestly give this a 0.5/5. Hey, it at least boots up.
