Author Topic: Watch Dogs Megathread - Oh How I Enjoy Hacking Your Life - RELEASED  (Read 41848 times)

Pssh, it still says it's unreleased in my steam client.

You guys seem to forget it's already out in Australia and many other countries.

i'm going to get this game possibly tomorrow

might

Average game is...average.

You know those cheap knock-offs of LEGO that have broken/missing pieces and ultimately are nowhere near the quality of the real thing? It's kind of like that, this time being a knock-off of GTA, unfortunately.

That said, I'm less into mainstream, watered down games such as GTA/CoD etc, so I'm probably the wrong person to be asking if you want to know if it's good or not.

For those wanting a little bit of a more serious video about the game:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBb2BIVrV7M
TotalBiscuit's "WTF is", which, for those unknown with TB's videos, is a first impressions video with some pretty good information about performance, gameplay and graphical fidelity.

EDIT:
To reinforce the video, my opinion on the issues stated in the video.
I have played an hour or two so far and i like how it goes so far.
The first thing i noticed was the really high sensitivity of the mouse in the main menu and then when i got actually in-game, the sensitivity was going haywire again.
Very incosistent mouse sensitivity across the menus and other things, not good.
All my graphical settings are on high with the exception of things like Ambient Occlusion which i put up a bit.
The framerate is quite choppy so i will probably have to lower some settings sadly.
My setup isn't that bad and as said in the video, even with dual titans or whatever it is TB has, the framerate is not that good.
Gameplay wise so far, it is nice, i am still in the beginning part of the game really so i cannot really tell too much from experience, but so far it is okay.
I am concerned about the amount of skills you can unlock though really, there aren't that many, but it is more about how you use them.

But yeah, pretty good, though i really really hope to see an optimization patch rather sooner then later.

Look like it got a lot of 8/10s

Not gunna get it until they sort out all the problems. Nearly every single thumbs-down on Steam says that it forgets up your entire computer, makes it crash, not just the game.

Not to say they're wrong since there seems to be a very mixed reaction to this game, but I wouldn't really trust any reviewers who work for any major publication.

9/10 its ok -IGN

AMD cards suck ass.

God damn it, UPS has postponed arrival of my physical copy until tomorrow.

EDIT: Scratch that, they ARE going to deliver it today. Hell yes.

Disabled motion blur because it seems to cause motion sickness. The game is average, make sure your graphic card drivers are up-to-date or you will run into problems.

Personally feel this game was over hyped, so I'm glad I got it for free with my graphics card. The driving sucks, they should of put more work into it. GTA:SA has better driving than this game. I found myself getting bored and just end up going on a killing spree.

Graphics are great however.

If I were to buy it I would wait for a sale.

Overall I give it a 5/10. It will most likely end up being forgotten eventually, not to be touched for a few months after a couple days.

Bunch of negative reviews on Steam, mostly due to unoptimization and unable to run it with AMDs. Owch, but I'm getting mine for console. Hoping it'll be alright on it.
