Author Topic: No longer just a font. But actually has its own characters. (new pic)  (Read 1819 times)

I decided to redo my orthography for Syerjchep.
Shame I don't have an drawpad, and also the picture to font maker kinda forgeted proportions up a bit, but I think it's better than my previous attempt.

Information about the language (uses old orthography/characters still):

This is the Arial font extended to include Syerjchep characters:

This is a keyboard layout that lets you type such characters:

You can make it so you can switch back and forth between your normal layout and the Syerjchep one instantly. It's pretty convenient. Also, the Syerjchep characters are between and including e6a2 and e6ce in the private use area of the Unicode standard.

Here's a final test:
This is regular text.    <Should be other characters

Yeah, it's basically just a normal font. I got the picture before I edited the white background out.

Doesn't look that bad; I could use a font like this for a game I'm making.

EVERYONE KNOWS THIS IS THE BEST FONT

So there's actually a language that goes with this and just happens to use this as its alphabet. In fact the design document for it is here:

By the way the uppercase letters G H J K P X don't have a character, as I didn't need to make one for them.

It was designed to be a general informal-type font.

Yeah, I guess it's hated because of how widely used it is. I actually don't mind it as much any more.

I can't even see it. Another advantage of Linux I guess. Lol.
