I'm getting into making plushies and I figured I'd share some of my progress.

I'm making a life-sized, slightly modified version of this OC with a shorter body, a slightly more filled-out (fatter) form, a wider ass, and a bigger head.

This is what I have so far. The lighter fabric looks gray, but it's actually a really nice desaturated green color, like in the reference. You can see my feet in the second picture to give you an idea of how big he's gonna be.

Right now there are 7 pieces in total including his underside (bottom of first picture), which I still have to pin and stitch. The rest of his pattern (sans his head) is finished and ready to be cut out; another 90 pieces in total counting claws and other small stuff. Once I get his belly stitched on I'll be adding the tip of his tail and his wings. I'm stitching him entirely by hand, with very thick, very strong upholstery thread and supersoft Minky fleece.

I've also made a couple small things as practice projects and as gifts, which I'll post later when I have the time to photograph them.

Any thoughts?

Why?
Because knuckers have really small asses and if he gained weight his ass would get wider? Plus, a good rule to remember is that bigger = better when it comes to making a plushie; the more girth there is to it the more there is for the person to hug.

Anyways, I finished one side of the belly stitching (holy forget that took forever) and pinned the other side so I could do a stuffing test...

As of now, he's turning out significantly fatter than I intended so I'll be needing to make some adjustments, specifically to his lower and upper back to take the girth down a couple notches and make his form flow more realistically.

He also needs an extra stitch where the tail meets the ass so it doesn't look so bulbous and unrealistic. The tail is also unfortunately a bit disproportionate relative to his body but I'm not going to try and fix that because it'd involve redoing the whole thing, and this is my first from-scratch project so I'm not going to be too strict with myself.

More tomorrow.

Looks pretty cool so far.

does knitting count? some people make hats n stuff like that even plush toys out of knit. I should try and buy stuffing and materials so I can make something.

I've always wanted to make the fonejacker mask since I can't find one and when ever I find one in the UK it costs lots of money since its rare. Can anyone give me tips?

what interests me the most is the stuff you have on the background

Yeah, knitting counts I suppose, as long as it's a stuffed animal

Been seein' some shows?

Dude I wish I was good at stitching. I'd be pumping out shiny pokemon plushes like there was no tomorrow.

I wish I had a Plush toy of my OC but I can't do it myself and its probably really expensive to do.

If I did get one I would hug the stuff out of it.

Stitching isn't hard, it's just incredibly loving tedious. All you need is patience and practice.

why is there a metal grate with a hole below in the carpet
