Has anyone else had this problem?

Basically when I go to bed I end up lying awake most of the night, continuously looking at the clock while everyone else is asleep in my house. It's been going on for ages but I've just started my exams and it's getting really bad. A few nights ago I was up until 4 am.

tl;dr discuss insomnia and ways of dealing with it

cant sleep
clowns will eat me

Listen to audio books about something boring.

Watch episodes of Professor Brian Cox's "The Wonders of the Universe/Solar System", and be lulled to sleep by his soothing voice.

well i don't have insomnia, but some things that help me out are opening my bedroom window, and putting on some soft music.

the sounds outside, (or at least the sounds where i live), tend to calm me down and help me sleep. the music i listen to is from video games, specifically minecraft and skyrim. that music tends to keep me calm as well, and with the noises of nature outside, it makes sleeping pretty easy.

is it just not being tired that you won't go to sleep? or is it that you're stressed out?

i used to kind of have it and then I stayed up all night one night and I got over it

listen to some music or read before bed
or try getting off the computer/phone/whatever like, an hour before you go to bed

Take some benadryl and read a boring old textbook. That's how I sleep.
or just take a wank

I've slept a grand total of 5 hours the past two nights. Thanks finals week.
