Author Topic: Does anyone speak a constructed language?  (Read 1521 times)

Just curious. As for myself, I speak a little of this, and I want to try to learn this.

I have created my own language.

Both of those languages I have never heard of. I want to learn Esperanto.

constructed language?
that seems dumb

Esperanto, although popular has some significant flaws. I'd recommend the reformed version of Esperanto, Ido, if its inflection system wasn't ridiculously complex, and had other grammatical issues. The most valid conlang that is the closest to Esperanto is Novial, for Novial in itself is an offshoot of Ido created by one of the linguists involved in the Ido project. But, even that has witnessed some perceived necessity or want for reform with Novial '98, and the creator of the language itself suggesting that a basic system of the language be modified.

i tried learning esperanto which is actually really simple to pick up a bit
but then i stopped because to be honest these constructed languages are useless to learn

I once tried making my own custom language

it was just different letters and sounds though with english grammar styles

I want to learn one of Tolkien's languages.

I bet OP uses Dvorak.

hahaha i get it because you have your own constructed language

I made one, am making another one, and made an alphabet for a possible, 3rd language.

The first one is Anacek - /ɑŋɑŋtʃɛk/ (sorta like ananchek, where "n" is the sound in sing) - (<- font)
Everything, except the lexicon, is done.
The second is Ṡagateṙ - /ʃɑgɑtɛʁ/ (shagateh, but the h is like the French r) - (this is an abugida, idk how to make a font of it)
I've finished most grammar for this one.
These two are supposed to be similar, I might make some sort of proto-language for both of these.
Then this alphabet, unnamed, so here's some random gibberish. An attempt at a logographic language, but I gave up, and reused some characters.
- /bɛdɔl gɑfixdɛ ʔɑŋɑtɛx/ That last word might be used as its name, as it was the first full "word" I made.

uhh i think hebrew is considered a constructed language although i'm not sure what that exactly entails, but it's used as an example on the wikipedia page for constructed languages so
i guess so?

i only peaksay igpay atinlay as a econdarysay anguagelay.

I am working on the syntax for one.
