Welcome to the fifth installment to the Sid Jairo's Europa Forumalis series, DSA! In this RP, Germany beat the United States to the atomic bomb and quickly felt the effects of such a weapon (cough former New York City cough). They surrendered shortly afterward, cutting the the British from their funding and the other Allies from their supplies. This, in turn, metastasized the collapse of the Allied Powers and saw the fall of Great Britain.
Germany, unable to maintain such revolt and unrest in the United States if annexed/occupied, decided on making it null and void by dissolving its government. The states became increasingly worried and riots became commonplace. California was the first to secede from the Former Union, declaring itself able to bear the burden of its forefathers and reunite the states. Despite its western location, Germany convinced California to adopt fascism.
The Soviet Union, viewing the dissolution of the United States as an unneeded act of inhumanity to its peoples, unofficially entered through Alaska down into the west coast and mid west to prevent further German advance as they swung around to invade Russia. The Soviet Union then annexed Alaska, claiming the territory rightfully theirs. Germany viewed THIS as an act of aggression, and declared war on the Soviet Union.
Italy, not being as useless as anticipated, had successfully captured the Middle East, making the German invasion of the Soviet Union unneeded and ultimately saw the friendship between the two powers increase. Italy would later declare neutrality from the Axis Powers.
Japan continued their assault on China following their conquest of French Indochina, American Philippines, British Malaya, and Dutch Indonesia. Japan would also take Hawaii as a forward base against the Americans. Japan would secretly sign a non-aggression treaty with the Soviet Union, allowing the two to face their true opponents.
TL;DR - Germany wins WW2. Allies dissolved. USA dissolved. States become independent and attempt to reunite one another. Both Germany and the Soviet Union try to A. prevent USA from reuniting and B. prevent each other from gaining territory in the states.HOW IS THIS PLAYED?You claim a state as your home state, seceding it from the Former Union and raising both German and Soviet interest alike. When you declare independence from the Former Union, you will be prompted to adopt an ideology. Either you can gain support from the Soviets and become communist, gain support from the Germans and become fascist, or you can fight for the true glory of the United States of America and adopt democracy.
Your job is to claim other states, either through shrewd diplomacy or tactful warfare. Being comfy with one of the world powers might compel them to give you some of their hardware (or you can even steal some). The rectangular things on the map represent the state capitals. If a state is still part of the Former Union (unplayed by a player, unoccupied by either world power, marked grey) you can invade their territory and claim it for yourself. Taking their capital will prompt you with annexing them or creating a personal union with them.
If you claim too much territory in a certain amount of time, however, the opposing world power (eg you're communist and conquer a lot, then Germany will get pissed) will declare war on you and basically kill your face. Being democratic will be the most difficult of all play styles considering you will have both world powers looking down upon you with no foreign support.
Battles and occupations between the two world powers will occur during gameplay.
TL;DR - Claim a state. Use initial state powers to A. quell public resistance and B. force citizen submission to align to your political party of choice. Conquer territory from other states to try and create a new United States to eventually overthrow Germany/Soviet Union/both.HOW DO I CLAIM A STATE?Simply say you become said state (assuming that it isn't already being played)
WHAT IS IDEOLOGY/ALIGNMENT?Ideology includes communism, fascism, and democracy. They divide the world based on their governmental ideals and can help improve relationships and hurt relationships.
Alignment is basically the same as ideology. Alignment is divided between three Parties: the
Communist Party of America, the
Fascist Party of America, and the
Democratic Party of America.
It's very rare, but it's possible for a state to have an ideology different to that of its party alignment.
