you are comparing genocide to internet companies

I didn't say the Holocaust, that's a different thing altogether; I was referring to the fact that the UN ignored the fact that Riddler was on a war path until they were right on their doorstep. geteducatedpls

"YouTube is preparing for U.S. regulators to challenge the Twitch deal, according to sources. YouTube is far and away the No. 1 platform for Internet video, serving more than 6 billion hours of video per month to 1 billion users worldwide, and the company expects the Justice Department to take a hard look at whether buying Twitch raises anticompetitive issues in the online-video market."

yeah exactly

All these massive corporations with the massive stacks of cash they've been storing are starting to buy stuff out.

Fantastic, hope we have another anti-trust era.

its been proven many times in the technology era that if something better comes along people will switch (eg myspace to facebook)

Because with the absence of net neutrality that could be coming, that something better may never get a chance.

google would probably make more money with an open internet
they make money off peoples browsing habits to sell for advertisements
not giving them an open choice skews the data

But Google is seeking to become an ISP, so if you can make money simply off of people wanting to view a website, why not cut out the middleman (the advertisers) and do that?

It's a stuffty situation, not saying Google would do that, but imagine if they did.

i really dont think they have the money or the resources to become a big game ISP
they're just trying to show murica how much they're paying for stuffty internet

so we're going to bash this over a theoretical scenario?

Yeah, people need to stop being so dependant on services like Youtube.
It's literally only popular because it's popular.
But hur dur, muh monetization, cause I can't get a real job.

I'm bashing it because it's anti-consumer and it's something we've already gone through with trust busting in the early 1900s.

Google has complete control of whatever is posted on that site.
Just because they choose not to exercise it often or publicly doesn't mean they don't have it.
That and it's pretty much a monopoly.

And people who make a living off Youtube are the dumb :|
