why do you have to block real game sites but not "UNBLOCKED GAME SITES"?

is there reasoning behind why you leave sites like reddit or imgur unblocked since they have research?

why do some sites get unblocked, then blocked, then unblocked
what is the purpose of that

Mine blocks a whole bunch of places like youtube and websites with way too many ad links.
But for some reason they don't block Roosterteeth or Crunchyroll.

At my high school, I actually enjoyed the filter. Everyone thought I was a loving 1337 h4x0r because I could bypass it with Tor since the IT guys didn't give a stuff. The only reason they added the filter was because my IPT class was hilarious and bludged constantly.

At my college, the filter is fairly free, since art students need to regularly tap many, *ahem* creative sources. That said, I haven't completely verified yet, but it seems as though you get booted off the network for about 10 minutes if you attempt to use a P2P client (specifically torrent programs).

My high school blocked the Best Page in the Universe for being "tasteless". Bullstuff, the work on that page has a lot of flavor.

It's been many a year since I were in high school, but I distinctly remember SonicWALL Filter being an obstructive piece of stuff.  It would automatically block anything that had anything suggestive in the URL, so like, you couldn't even read on Wikipedia about the GNU Free Documentation License.

Later, they switches to Fortiguard filter, which was less total stuff.  This made it more annoying in a sense, because it was actually better at its job of keeping us kids off of game-related sites and such.

Sucks ass. Trying to find information on how to do special stuff on my video.final is gay cus all the how to or Video Editing sites are blocked for Private Websites and Forum Content. Also, UNCATEGORIZED SITE???

Completely ineffective at blocking distracting sites, which are typically less well known, yet blocks a lot of actually useful stuff. And you can get around it on YouTube by using https.
