Author Topic: The Clave Key Competition - Win a Blockland Key! (Ends Tomorrow)  (Read 6702 times)

If he hasn't bought the key, could he buy it and then have the confirmation email sent to the winner?

Listen to me, i bought the key. My dad literally makes that in 10 minutes.
Fine, go ahead and waste your money.
I really dont give a flying stuff. If it gets revoked, that's great! I dont care!
Even if you've never used the key before, either both your current key and the key you're giving away is going to be revoked or just the one you're giving away is going to be revoked.
On the other hand, Badspot will not revoke a key like that. He will give warnings and tell us to call off the competition if this is the case.

Me and Deo are doing this for the community. We will never abuse the fact that we have the key, so don't think we will. If you don't want to be in the competition, that's great.

Yes. I honestly didn't expect this to even be an issue at all.

Please dont think we will abuse

why didn't you just give them a copy of bl on steam..?
or would that still count.

??????????????????

Deve, what the hell are you talking about?

Deve, what the hell are you talking about?

People are saying that if you give them a key that you already bought then it would be key sharing, but Deve is wondering if it would still count as key sharing if you gave them a steam copy of blockland. It's different because steam copies don't have authentication keys attached to them.

A lot of people have already registered their key to steam and if they tried to activate another steam key it wouldn't work due to them owning the game already and it would not let them activate it.

Also, you could just make the prize $10 to allow the winner to do whatever the forget they want with it

EDIT:

hhh

Deve, what the hell are you talking about?

Nvm, Johnny got it.

Is this the Clave and Sigma thing again?

this is going to end well

You could always gift them a copy of BL on Steam, or use Paypal (your account, but the winner receives) to send the key to their email. The first method is essentially the best way to do it.
Didn't read thread:

Do the competition, but if you want to use a key, use my methods. If you already bought it and you are in physical possession of the key, the key will be getting deactivated.

so while the way ipquarx put it was super rude, he isn't really wrong.

rather than repeat what others have said about badspot being very anti-key sharing, here's a different note:

it's kind of silly to give away a copy of Blockland when you already need to own Blockland in order to be in the competition. some people who are great builders don't need another copy of Blockland, while others are people who need another Blockland key but aren't building-oriented.

also, offering a spot in your clan isn't a reward in all peoples' eyes. some people may find that to be a nuisance rather than a gift, you may even be driving away some potential builders.

if it's true that your
dad literally makes that in 10 minutes

then a fairly standard prize for competitions is to give the winner a $20 or under game of their choice, usually through Steam. it's quick and easy. i would recommend it, and you'd avoid all this trouble about blockland keys, but it's up to you.
