They aren't relevant and don't really add anything to the series. They are literally ports of the game that offer little/less content than the PC version.

It's not a port, It doesn't have online, it has AI partners, it has a story mode.

I would define a series as a family of games, Which is what they are.

Didn't know there was going to be a MS2, but you're right I wasn't expecting that.
Not really sure what to think of it, through watching the video some bits looked good and some (mostly the beginning) didn't really interest me.

Scrapped the beautiful art style for some of the most cringe worthy models I've ever seen.
For some reason decided to jump into a spiral knights gameplay with minecrafty look. For some reason they tried to use weird Wii Sims player designs and combined them with minecraft levels. Its just plain ugly and uninspired =/
