Consistent nightmares

For the past few months I've had the same nightmare every week and I need to find out why but have no idea how to do that. The nightmare is me watching my family die and I cant do anything to stop it them from dying. I don't know why I have to experience hell every time i sleep but I cant handle it anymore. Advice please
