It says in the op that it's an outdoor cat and it's normal for it to wander off for 2 days every now and then.

Let's make a comparison.

It's illegal to let your pet wander around on its own in normal residential areas.
Cat is property. Cat gets damaged or stolen because owner dosn't seem to be giving a forget about where it is.

It's illegal to run red lights when driving
You run a light and get your car smashed up.
Post about what a victim you are on the Internet and people get angry for you.

Are you serious? They had collars and they roamed around maybe one or two houses away, big deal. Not all cats like to be confined inside.

you realize he's from florida right? there are tons of loving cats there, its a normal thing in florida for people to let their cats out and stuff. no one there gets in trouble for letting the cat out of the house for a bit, it's a normality

People let their cats out in a lot of places, actually. My next door neighbors tend to let their cats roam freely a few houses away. They're actually pretty friendly so I'm fine with it. There's also a similar situation at my grandparents where a cat from some (idk who's) house will pretty much lounge around everywhere in the neighborhood. Same deal, pretty friendly.

1. guy lets cat outside (which he's most likely been doing for quite a long time now) and nothing happens, next day he does the same thing and it gets killed by some high teenagers

2. guy buys drugs, drug dealer rip shim off, calls cops

how are those two relevant in any way
