It's actually not good for two or more anti-virus programs to be running on your computer at the same time. I highly recommend to remove one of them.
Malwarebytes doesn't run all the time though. It only runs if you manually run it.

Download Adwcleaner as well.

oh yeah, before I forget
i hope you're going into safe mode with networking because you're gonna need it:
download rkill and run it at least once before running malwarebytes, then run MB
then,
Download Adwcleaner as well.
and run it
after that, grab JRT and run it.
You should be pretty-much virus free after this, it's a basic 3-step wash I use for whenever people's computers at my school get infected with stuff and they come to me to fix it.
i should really start charging for that

Sorry for this bump but, is AVG one of those programs that has a 30-day trial but lets you use it after the trial is over anyway?

Or do I actually have to pay for it to continue using it?

The Malwarebytes people themselves recommend having an anti-virus program alongside it.

Also if you are smart enough, delete any suspicious files in the registry. Also check task manager Ctrl+Alt+Delete. And make sure no strange files run on startup, especially if they are trying to take up a lot of CPU power in order to run.

Please answer the question I asked above. I already did all that and everything is sorted out. I just want to make sure that I can use AVG again in the future in case this happens again. (It will happen again. If someone in my family wants a program, they google it and download the first thing they see.)

I'd recommend avast! over AVG

My question remains unanswered.
