Why would you even want to use anything older than XP?

My XP computer currently has a crashed hard drive and we never got around to attempting to retrieve the data.  I use a Windows 7 HP Pavilion G6 right now, but I was just seeing if I could get it working on another computer.

That's an absurd statement. Have you even used Windows 8? There are hundreds of additions and everything is several times faster.

Did you run it in a VM or what? Windows 8 is way faster than 7.

It's faster than my current HDD so I seriously doubt it. SATA vs IDE. SATA is obviously faster.

This is what my dad was thinking when I asked him.  XP was released in 2001 iirc and Vista followed in 2007, which was after Blockland was released.  I'm not a computer nut though, so i wasn't sure if anything came between them.
