Author Topic: Topics with false version numbers.  (Read 5504 times)

I don't see a problem with it.

Amen dooble, this drama was long overdue

i dont have a problem with false numbers, its just the fact there are numbers

if the topic was made in the past and it died, it died for a reason. stop filling up the forum with the same topic every few weeks
I don't think there's a chance that people will stop making the same topics again and again, since they're a bit of fun on the short term.
I just don't get why everyone has to put in a silly number/word for each one, as if anyone actually cares that this is the 3rd incarnation of that particular topic.

And it's just particularly annoying when it's so pointless.
There's been a forgetload more "compliment the above user" topics than just 2 over the last 5 years I've been here alone. If the numbers aren't even accurate, and no one can even remember when the first of a type of topic was created, then why the forget even bother to put those spammy little digits at the end? No one's going to come in to the topic and complain that there's an older version, unless that same version is still active (which in some of the above cases it has been).

If there's a decent reason, like the Furry thread, where the original was locked, or in the Games section, where different OP's stop updating, then it's fine. Otherwise it's just annoying and unfunny.

reminds me of the "/support" drama

this drama is pointless and unnecessary

I agree with this topic completely. Why even bother putting a version number? If you're really that concerned that someone might roll around and be like "LOL THIS TOPIC EXISTS" then put a note at the bottom of your post that says the old one is too old to post in. If it's not, POST IN THAT ONE.

i dont think a drama was really needed...
It was more fitting to put it here than in Off-Topic.

Fine, if people want to do it. But it's really not smart and it just seems to make your topic stand out as one of the stupider ones.

I dont mind random numbers like v666 but I cant stand seeing "vIDKLMFAOLOL" or stupid stuff like that

but thats just a personal issue I have to deal with lol

I don't have a problem unless the "fake version number" is really dumb/obnoxious (i.e. really long numbers, all caps, just really stupid things)

You feel You Lose was actually v4. "You Cry You Lose" was the same thing basically.
Also,Nation States v3 was actually v3 too because the other nationstates threads weren't named it.

Doesn't matter, they don't need version numbers at all.

boo hoo numbers at the end of thread titles

what is wrong with you people, seriously.

i dont think these gay forum games should even exist anyways
