This script should cause the player to be invincible IF they are holding out a tool (Hammer wrench or printer), or the brick placer. Quickly switching to a weapon and then back to the brick placer/tools should be stopped by having, when you stop holding a tool/brick placer; you won't get invincibility from them for a full 5 minutes.

i think the gameplay implications of this are much more significant than the worth of its implementation

If the player un-equips the brick placer or a tool, for a minute they won't get invincibility from either the tools or a brick placer
Or if they dont place bricks, the invincibility will wear off after thirty seconds.

How so? It isn't hindering anything.
If you're fighting, you can't stay invincible for long by taking a tool or brick placer out and then your weapon over and over again.

someone can still just hold their invincibility wand out and waltz into some other guy's base without them being able to do anything about it

and other related activities

This is so beyond abusable that it's ridiculous.

Someone could easily walk into another base and unleash hell without being damaged upon entrance.
Someone could event a huge explosion brick right next to another base without being killed.
Someone could trap other players with no danger.
Someone could drive around a tank and be unkillable.

See why this is a bad idea?

See why this is a bad idea?
1. How could somebody "unleash hell" if they can't use a weapon to stay invincible.
2. Events can be disabled and kind of should be disabled anyway for a fort-war.
3. If a player gets trapped an admin can kick them for trapping or delete the trap. This would also probably only happen if the person was afk.
4. Didn't gravity cat make a script or something that disables items from being usable in a vehicle?
EDIT: Also if somebody is in a tank, they can't shoot the turret without having the brick placer/tool un-equipped. Firing the turret forces a person to unequip anything.
AND the tank can still be destroyed if they are just running people over.

There could be a timer added to fix that, which lasts 2 minutes and only replenishes if they place a brick. If the timer runs out they loose their invincibility and since I said earlier "when you stop holding a tool/brick placer; you won't get invincibility from them for a full 5 minutes", that issue could be solved.

what's stopping them from just placing a brick to replenish their timer as they walk around being butts

i don't think there's any good way to execute this

Or other people can read the rules and get banned if they don't.

Or remove specific events that are harmful
