(sorry for 2 topics so close to eachother)

So this little guy just flew onto my porch in the rain, with a broken wing. I rescued it from my dogs and brought it inside. It's currently cocooned in paper towels, in a container in my room. I'll call him Henry. Henrietta if it's a girl.

I'm probably gonna wait for the rain to clear up and for the little guy to rest for awhile, then set him loose in the frontyard. (Not the backyard, we have dogs there.)
It wasn't looking good from the start, but I honestly thought she'd live. She was rapidly flapping her wings and clawing around, and it was a little concerning. Eventually she just flopped down on her side with her legs in the air, one wing stretched out, and her neck bent backwards. I didn't think she looked OK so I picked her up and set her on her feet. She rolled over again. She was lying bent up for awhile, so I checked on her. She isn't breathing anymore, and doesn't react when I pick her up. She's not blinking.

oh

shouldve crushed it and sent pictures to flatflyer
why don't we crush your child and throw its remains at you

OT: Take good care of him, and watch out for your dogs, don't want them trying to eat it or anything.

In similar news, my cat has learnt how she can climb up onto a fence and get into our tree where all the little birds hang out, so there'll probably be more bird deaths soon.

Had the same thing happen to me, except it wasn't injured. It couldn't fly, however. Anyways, do you know if the mother was around? How bad is the extent of the injury? Is it eating?

Birds can reject their young if it doesn't recognize it, so try to keep physical contact with it to a minimum.

you've done good work for birdkind
