Author Topic: Keys you never use?  (Read 8058 times)

Hmm. Page up, page down, scroll lock, pause break. Some of the F keys. That's it. I use all the other keys frequently.

PrtScSysRq
Scroll Lock
Pause Break

I don't even know what any of those do

PrtSc/SysRq takes a screenshot.
Scroll Lock is vestigial. Most programs don't even support it.
Pause Break is also vestigial. People used it a long ass time ago to stop programs that were running in their terminals. Nowadays we use ctrl+c.

You obviously haven't used Vim.

Vim isn't even supposed to use home/insert/end.

It uses i for insert, 0 for home, and $ for end.

I don't think I've ever used the pause button on my keyboard.

I never use Z, well once in a blue moon I may have to.

Rarely use F15 (Pause/Break in modern keyboards) and Scroll Lock.

OT:
Caps lock
Num lock

That's about it.
In Windows, prtsc takes a screenshot and copies it to the clipboard. In many other OS's though, it just takes a screenshot and allows you to save it somewhere.
no i know what it does, i just don't use it
probably should have clarified that

Anything numpad, except on bl which isn't often.

I never use Z, well once in a blue moon I may have to.

just did

I carry a key for a padlock that I don't even know what I did with.

Oh wait you mean computer keyboard keys.

Caps Lock
Alt
End
PrintScr
Insert

insert, scroll lock, and calculator.
and pretty much the function keys except f5.

Alt
You don't alt+tab..?

The only ones I don't use are F3/F4, F10-12, pause/break, insert, and the right alt/windows/ctrl keys. I use all others frequently and I have no idea how you people can bear not to use the home/end keys, they're infinitely useful.

Home
End
PgUp/PgDown
Delete
Pause
Right alt
(hehe)
