Author Topic: Is LEGO Minifigures Online an insult to gaming?  (Read 7033 times)

^ Pc frogger's loving MATH ADVENTURE AHUHHHH, put-put, swimmy sam fishforget.
Those were "kids games" and they were hard as forget.
And the Internet wasn't in any shape to have guides or anything. Beating Pajama Sam was the greatest day of my childhood.

Ok, I get that this game isn't great or anything, but you do realize it's a game designed for kids ages ~6-10, right?

You know what else was designed for kids?

so is like ever amazing nintendo game ever

just because a kid is young doesn't mean people should be allowed to shovel stuff to them.

You're missing my point. If a company creates something that is meant for kids (and I mean very specifically for kids), yet everyone enjoys it, then they've really accomplished something.

If a company has created something for kids and it gets a good reaction from their target audience and that's it, well, they accomplished their goal.

The real problem comes when they create something targeted for kids and the kids don't even like it.

Basically, if they've affected their target audience in the way they were aiming for, then their goal has been achieved. It wasn't designed with teens in mind, so for teens to legitimately expect to get enjoyment out of it, well, I dunno what to say except for: why would you expect that? That's like expecting to get a fulfilling read from a children's book.

LU was targeted at a slightly higher age level, and not only that, but it was REALLY good. Therefore, you have scenario one that I just mentioned - everyone liked it, it didn't matter what your age was. This game would be scenario two. Not only was it targeted at a younger audience, but we could see it wasn't going to be as in-depth as LU. Thus, target age equals enjoyment age.

Anyway, isn't this still in beta? I understand that it will mostly be as it is now, but many things could still change from how it is now.

Hate to be 'one of those 90s kids' but 'kids games' back when I was a youngin were challenging. This is just a grind.
I know - I don't enjoy it as much as other games but it's still fun.

of course it is
what do you think, this isn't an insult to gaming?

lego universe was better

I hear somewhere Lego just slapped a re-skin and a few limitations on the LU engine and said "minifigs."

your sources are stuff

your sources are stuff

but they totally ripped the models and animation stuff from LU

but they totally ripped the models and animation stuff from LU

Every LEGO game in the entire universe ripped the models and animation from LU.
/fact

I tried this game last night and I really was disappointed. I was expecting so much more, and I didn't even think it was a LEGO game. It felt more like a pay-2-play sidescrolling kid game.

You do realize that it is a p2p kids' game, right? Emphasis on "kids".
