since bethstuff owned the fallout license they took it down and replaced everything that said interplay with bethesda and that took long as hell for some reason

gog version came installed with compatibility mods. The steam version used a hacky version of sfall.

According to someone I know, Steam versions were updated with some kind of fixes. Supposedly they are "high res" and support cloud saves now.
