Dedicated hosting?

Hammereditor thinks that he needs to hide his so special formula for hosting a server, so good luck with getting a lot of advice from him.

Thanks to other people helping me with completing Hammer's information, read and do the following:
If you need to host a server on steam do this:
1. Make a batch file with the following:

start Blockland.exe ptlaaxobimwroe -dedicated -steamName it "dedicated".
Make a text file named steam_appid.
Put this in the text file:

250340Put both files in Blockland's Directory.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Blockland (default directory blockland installs in)
Then just run the bat file on a machine, and if you want you can run blockland on that same machine through steam, and it will run just fine!
(if you have alot of ram of course.)
Also, it's highly unlikely that your single server would ever be targeted by DDoSers, its only the big companies and hosting services that people go after. But once again not everyone ddos's hosting services, so dont worry.

There is so much misinformation in this post, it's not funny. First off, the fake death thing was perpetrated by Betelgeuse, not Raven. Raven had no idea it was even happening until later. The trolling group was also Betel's idea, however Raven made the stupid decision to involve himself in it. But, the point is that Raven didn't create it. And not having the "properties to go outside" is the reason he made his tournament server? Really Maxxi, really?....

Are you trying to start something max? First off, I never said anything about Zapk not knowing what he's talking about. He doesn't know more than me, but he does when it come to this subject but that's an irrelevant point. All of us agreed Zapk's post was a negative response that wasn't needed and were all against what he said except for you for god knows what reason. Probably you wanting to take a shot at me just for the hell of it.

Also what does not having the "properties to go outside" even mean? I don't ever get out of the house so I made a server based around something I enjoy? I'm thoroughly enjoying my time at EDC right now so I don't have the time for this. Nice job making a fool of yourself once again.

That's not very important information for me to hide. I don't mind you revealing this, because you still can't host Steam users on a hosting service with it!

I would start my own hosting service with a customized panel (making it as userfriendly or even more user friendly than RTB)
but i will probably only be able to host for a while according to the price, before my wallet gets drained (if we talk about a $50 - $120 a month dedicated server), unless of course, if i have paying clients, it wont be a problem.

Really, if someone wants to be a jerkhole, they'll find a way regardless of what measures you're trying to put in place to prevent it. Those kinds of people are unfortunately around, so don't wave around anything you don't want people to grab on.

Nope he hosts at home and that sucks because I live with him and we're getting ddosed right now so none of us can use our internet. Don't host a service at home because if someone attacks your service then your whole family has to suffer because of it and that will piss them off.

No, CBMhost never gets DoS'd or hacked. I'm kind of interested in how they would handle it, though.

Anyway Marzshine, it really looks like you need to make a small private hosting service for about 2 months. Hold 3-4 players on a Linux VPS.
