Author Topic: Can I transfer blockland to another steam account?  (Read 4588 times)

Lets take the controversial banning issue out of the topic altogether so we can focus on the issue at hand.

If you purchase the retail version, you can store as many keys as you like and alternate between them without even having to shut down the game. This would be extremely convenient for steam users who wish to use more than one key.

If it's so much more convenient then they would be willing to switch to the non-steam version.

Because the Steam version includes plenty of benefits, namely the steam community, integrated into the game.

I'm not VAC banned and I have no trouble with Valve. It's just I have more games on my new steam account; it makes no sense to use the old one to play blockland. It wastes time to log in and out of the old and new one. Check for yourselves if you want.

Not to be old fashioned but:

1. Go to the Blockland Website
2. Download standalone version
3. Input key
4. ???
5. Profit?

You don't need Steam to run it and you can just have steam open in the background like you normally have but on your new account

This is regressive behavior. We should be looking to expand and innovate, not sticking to obsolete methods. That was the entire point of the steam release in the first place. Not to mention, the OP doesn't want to buy a new key.

nobody worth remembering

You don't get given a key when you buy it on steam

Who are you

Ahhh I was just thinking as if he was using a key from pre-steam, forgot about that bit :s
But despite that, in Setro's case I thought he had Blockland before Steam release so if he's not using a Blockland Steam alt then he should be fine... right?

It would be extremely convenient if we could just simply get a key with our purchase, doesn't steam have this facility already in place?
It does, in fact, have that ability. I don't know why Badspot decided against using it(except maybe to make it harder for scammers like Spencer to acquire keys, seeing as they don't have any key to be stolen from them), as it's very useful, and a lot of games use it(specifically some of the older ones, but hey, it works).

Once you tie a key to a Steam account it cannot be un-tied, and cannot be tied to a different account.

It's not obsolete though. Just add blockland as a non-steam game and you'll have basically all the same features.

I find Steam a much smoother and better experience than the old methods. I have neither an Amazon or a Paypal account and for the few times I have purchased Blockland from either site I would describe the process as laborious/unpleasant in comparison to a Steam transaction. It's also helpful because I cannot purchase from Paypal or Amazon had I been planning to purchase using my steam wallet. There are a plethora of other reasons why Steam is a suitable alternative which should carry the same benefits as the old methods. We should never have to turn to a certain payment method over another because one method has a lack of benefits over another.

If we plan to expand further into the steam environment, such as workshop and other community features, it'll be necessary to innovate further. I'm not understanding the logic behind an opposition to beneficial development/change.

Not liking paypal is your own opinion though, most people are more than fine with using it. What other "community features" besides workshop are there? guides have already been used to distribute blhack and nothing else is really useful.

I'm just saying, just because it's on steam doesn't mean that every other medium is automatically inferior. I'm not against innovation or change, I use blockland on steam myself sometimes.

I never said it was anything beyond an opinion, I was however providing a possible viewpoint from a consumer perspective. I don't believe PayPal and Amazon are inferior, as a matter of fact, PayPal and Amazon offer superior benefits, being able to manage your own key is incredibly convenient and save a lot of headache. What I am saying is that Steam should have these benefits too, as no payment method should be inferior to any other payment method. My suggestion will essentially separate both the benefits of steam and the payment method of steam, so if you purchase from Amazon or PayPal, you can still enjoy the benefits of the Steam system.

There's no real reason to be defending payment methods here lol. I'm not trying to assert my payment method as the supreme master race over yours, I'm trying to equalize them so that all payment methods can experience the benefits of both Steam and having your own keys.
