I think you should go with AVG even if you have to pay for extra protection. You get all the basic protection free anyway.

I've used the free version for several years and it's been a huge help

people hate Mcafee and im not sure why. Its honestly a good antivirus for a reasonable price. It was really helpful and I never got a single virus when using it.

That is because your antivirus is not detecting it.
Most malware nowadays is made to be undetectable unless it's adware or something similar.

Avast Antivirus, it's one of the best.. forget Mcaforget and kasperskank. Also for the love of god, don't get Norton.
Also you should look into Malware Bytes, that's really good too.

i run the free versions of avast and malwarebytes. i've been using avast for as long as i can remember and its always done a good job.

I prefer to be smart with what you are downloading and no antivirus is ever needed.

antivirus is good for peace of mind. i'm always careful with what i download or what sites i visit, but i feel better when i have an antivirus running.

Try using both AVG and Malwarebytes. I use them both and they work well.
