The Flood can also use weapons and things when manipulating bodies

What if a headcrab latched on to a Flood-infested soldier?

Infestception.
even so, I believe the flood could probably reproduce at a far faster rate

I'm assuming headcrabs work on direct neurological attachment via the brain for control. The flood don't have "brains", they work as a hive-mind concept.

But what if headcrabs take over the victims of flood?
Actually, if you played Half Life 1/2, headcrabs seem to be able to survive in a lot of environments

bullsquids can stand in acid, believe
U wot m8

I haven't read all 100% of Halo Flood lore but iirc the only methods to quell an Infestation is to starve them of food source or containment (which the latter never quite seems to work out).

Containment never works with the flood, but I bet gamma radiation level containment would. (A container that is lined with about a dozen inches thick lead plates.)

the forerunners didn't build a bunch of rings to kill all life in the galaxy for no reason
headcrabs are more like animals, whereas flood are a sort of hiveminded super fungus thing

none, They would all assimilate each other into a transcendent mega-parasite, and consume the entire universe.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen. Today I'll be representing The Zerg. (Though I've only play Starcraft 1, so yeah.)

As a race that is reliant on their larvae in the early stages of their colonies. As a race where their larvae can both turn from offensive units to defensive units to even practical factories, the Zerg are incredibly versatile and as such even leaving a mere Larvae and Overlord alive can lead to reproduction and soon after a new batch of them to deal with. They are dangers to the environment, and when you come into the vicinity of their infested regions you'll know it. The ground at you feet will stop being ground, and will seem like flesh in both texture and appearance.

Now I'm gonna get into some of the the delicious and slightly arousing forms of these adorable little guys.

This little cutie is called the Zergling. He's probably one of the most common, and yet one of the most exceedingly dangerous units that the Zerg has to offer. Because of how easily accessible and generally fast to evolve to these guys are, they are the go-to unit in rushing. However, rushing is not all they're good for, allow me to get into what makes them somewhat flexible: Like many other Zerg units, the Zergling is capable of burrowing into the ground and rendering itself undetectable to the enemy, making them great for flanking or even a trap simply waiting to be sprung as the enemy unknowingly walk into a dead end.

Next we have this brave authority figure, the Overlord.

The overlord is a versatile zerg flier that provides control, detection and air transportation once upgraded. By detection, this means the Overlord can detect cloaked enemies, and point them out for the other lifeforms. However, they are mandatory to have in order to keep the brood in order. I can't say there's much else to this guy, though I'm no real expert on the zerg myself, I'm just an avid fan of them.

This little trooper's the Hydralisk.

Don't be surprised, despite his cute and charming looks, this guy's one of the biggest sadists in the Zerg that you'll come across! Hydralisks are a versatile combat strain, and form the backbone of the Swarm. Hydralisks may attack directly with scythe-like arms. These scythes make them deadly in close quarters. More commonly though, hydralisks strike from a distance with volleys of armor-piercing spines 30cm in length. Hundreds of these spines are stored in the upper carapace plates and covered by flaps. The flaps fold back before the spines fire, a process which gives a few seconds warning to an impending volley. While a human can have a impressive 629 muscles and even more, Hydralisks have a whopping 4000 muscles.

I've gotten tired, so I'll wrap this up with one more jolly thing!

They're infectious! Like most of the other parasites here, these guys can infect you by injecting you with the Hyper Evolutionary Virus, quickly but excruciatingly painfully turning you into Zerg! What jolly fun, eh?

tl;dr, zerg will forget all of these twats up.

While this is true that the headcrabs are more beast than they are sentient, they do have enough intelligence to obey commands from Vortigaunts and other races capable of telepathy, and with this it can be assumed that headcrabs can in fact communicate with one another, while their intelligence is most likely below average.

Definitely the Tyranids

No contest, you guys are forgeted

I'd bet on the flood, personally.

They don't. There are no brains or anything like that to do so. The "control" spot would be the flood infection spore itself.
i thought that the flood infection pretty much took over their victim's brains as well, so there would still be a brain to use.

Also, what about a headcrab managing to get a hold of the "control" spot?

gonna post sum stuff bout headcrabs at some point

wait when did the vorts ever telepathically control headcrabs

u wot

but headcrabs and vortigaunts hate each other

Communication does not lead to full control

Headcrabs do have free will, it's not so much that they always obey what vortigaunts say rather than they have the ability to do so if they so wish. Think of it as how we integrate certain words into the mind of a dog, and they gradually begin to respond to them by performing actions we are pleased with.

u wot

but headcrabs and vortigaunts hate each other

Regardless of hating each other, the fact that these things are a possibility due to Vortigaunts and Headcrabs being able to communicate through Vortessence, as the power allows such to happen, as well as heightened metabolism, the powering of electrical based devices and so on.
