i spent a hefty 4 hours in the bathroom of my house throwing up

I don't know, if he had roast beef and gravy, I really wouldn't be surprised if it was brown.  As for the vomiting for 4 hours, that can also be normal.  Sometimes its a 24 hour bug thing, just give it some time to go away.

If it gets worse however, definitely go to the doctors / hospital.
