Author Topic: Renegade Nations - RIP thread 2014-2014  (Read 8307 times)

Please don't let them get pissed at humanity over a misunderstanding.

No doubt they could wipe out our settlements with no effort.

I'm going to be playing it safe and am not getting involved.
no we just don't want to meet humans face to face
seriously just study the language with your people
we arent going to attack humans unless you send a letter saying "forget alien scum" along with a bag of poop

To keep this fair, I'm going to say that they don't have that much more advanced tech then the human nations because they didn't benefit from human discoveries.

also i only have like 2 planetary bombardment ships
not very effective

How?  I sent over a guy to communicate?

That was literally the humblest way and the only way of even beginning to establish communication.  It was also the easiest way since we have no means of going into space and finding out because A) There's a huge armada blocking our way, B) The language is constructed from innumerable roots of unknown origin, C) Our spacecraft ran on XM which is long-depleted, and since we're on a planet with a high magnetosphere, hopes of finding any is virtually none.

Um, still an armada up there.  We have no XM weapons– only stripped down XM-based weapons, maybe two railguns at best.  Either way, CSC is not an aggressive State.  We will defend ourselves, but we have no reason to attack.  A peaceful religious group.

Plus what mlockha just said, Crispy sustained in HF that XM was known to the Khonians who had discovered it since it was located in space just as easily.  Likewise we can assume that SI has nearly infinite access to it judging by their size and ability to travel in vast groups.

do your people know some alien languages? actually hold on ill fix this

A chart floats up onto CSC shores. It shows SI letters alongside an Erinamese translation. It appears to have been scribbled out by an alien who had some knowledge of human languages. Although, the Erinamese is very rusty and looks like it was even written with an accent. There is also a phonetics chart. You can now translate SI messages, or translate messages into the SI's language. The top of the page is titled 'Terasa Comple I'.

The chart is quickly unified and deciphered.

The language is brought up to linguistics and a message is sent once more saying that the people of the Silver Crescent wish for peace and understanding.  If an arrangement for contact can be reached, then we would be most overjoyed.

my phone got fried, pm me your number

Flag added to my post and crunched down the image size to fit specifications.

Also, nice HSV guide.  What might a monarchy or theocracy be?  Or that one system that requires sole governance from technology?  I'm curious.

Also if you could do an economic color system, that would be super cool and innovative.  Even if just hue-based, it would be cool, though the HSV dimensions show some good possibility.  Nerding out so much right now!

Also we found an organization.

FLAG/EMBLEM to be voted on by any members.

The Gaian Conference of Faiths

A committee of religious and spiritual leaders, teachers and philosophers regardless of race or origin that seek to unite all faiths not necessarily in their dogma, but in understanding and compassion.

Organization
Type: Religious, Non-Profit, International, Rapport
Backstory: Inspired by the life of Dalai Lama XIV, who spoke often of uniting the faiths of Earth, and often spoke at such conferences to help accomplish this aim.  We aspire to continue his legacy on Gaia.

Members: The Commonwealth of the Silver Crest
Headquarters: No headquarters– different members may host the events every year.

A theocracy/monarchy (to me, those are the same thing; even if the leader is supposed to be a religious leader too, it's still a monarchy) would probably be a mint-green, however dark you want it.

I really don't know if there's enough variation in economies for it to be worth it. It's either Free Market, Command, or Socialism, or somewhere in-between. Capitalism is a natural consequence of a free market.

Socialism would be the same as command.

Although, Espovon's political color would be like a dark low-saturation brown, tending more toward green, due to their command economy and rigid rules.

Socialism would be the same as command.

rigid rules.
Yeah, that's sorta true, but they can be run differently.

Rigid rules (less free will) means a lighter color, not a darker one.

Oh, then probably like this →

Also, can you incorporate my flag, and include "Commonwealth of the" before "Silver Crest", please?  Thanks.

A message is sent back.
"ផពづቤሾ੧"
It can be translated as to say.
"We shall not attack you, but we will not be peaceful with human dogs."
