Help Sabbin build a gaming PC on a budget!

So, I have a $1000 budget for a new gaming PC, and I'm not exactly a computer building whiz, knowing what parts are most optimal, what the best processors are, video card quality, etc. So I figured I'd ask some people who are. Windows 7 is preferred as well.

if you wanna save money go amd, if you want less hassle go nvidia.
Asus is my preferred GPU brand.
do you have any idea on the kind of parts you want?

logicalincrements is a very good site as mentioned above for price ranges

i recommend that and then if you get stuck anywhere in the building process to just ask around here

I don't really have a need for a SSD or fancy case or anything. I used the Logical Increments site as a heavy guide, using the Superb row, aside from the CPU, I found a better one for only a few dollars more.
