I follow Crux, forming on his wing. I quickly bank to the right in order to dodge the missile that was going towards Crux. "Sandwich!" I say before I gain altitude, over the cloud cover (if any), hopefully talking the bandits up on my tail.

Looks like you guys might want to load up on radar missiles next time

unless it's not in the budget

Well apparently an active radar missile can be lost to flares. I was assuming that aircraft would be outfit with a number of MRAAMs with some infrared SRAAMs. Also unless the ground attack Jaguars are trying something stupid they shouldn't be retaliating. The Jag is a ground attack.

I pull hard back and dump countermeasures. Forward radar looses the missiles from screen but I'm sure they're still there somewhere.

"Condor, I'll fly in low and take out their pod. You keep anything on me occupied."
I dive down to about the level of the pod, and level out. I launch a missile at the pod to try and destroy it, and strafe the deck of the ship. Bullets riddle my plane, but I come out unharmed.

Pay more attention.
MiG-29
Aerial Flak Cannon
8x HSM
4x AGM
2x Flares
You aren't using radar missiles.

What pod are you talking about. "Pod-tech" refers to technology recovered from the pods, they aren't literally flying a 10 thousand year old escape pod.
If you're referring to the General's plane, he doesn't even have any bullet-firing weapons. Just a PD Laser.

Well, the aircraft were only outfitted with heatseekers, so that would the AIM-7 Sparrow and AIM-9 Sidewinders. Considering we don't have any electronic warfare aircraft (I chose the Hornet for a reason), it's probably a good bet they don't either- just for balance.

welp, late post

edit:

I didn't know the Ravens were two-seaters.

You'll get more varied loadouts later, right now I'm just trying to keep it somewhat simpler.
For this mission, the MiG takes the Air Supremacy role, the Mirage is Ground Attack, and the Hornet is mixed.

Does the general's plane come with cupholders?

Yes, for cups made from his opponents skulls from which he drinks their blood to work himself into a combat frenzy.
Or so the propaganda says.

yes sir what are we attacking with ground

You tried shooting the General's plane with your guns?
Oh it was with a missile, never mind, you don't die.

yes sir what are we attacking with ground
The naval task force currently on approach.

something tells me you should ask Misfit squadron to use certain 'functions' on their aircraft

Different Raven. If they were in F-111s they would have been toasted before you even arrived.
