Being closer to Crux, I fire off flak fire at the attacker in the Sandwich maneuver that Crux is in.
You don't have flak. You have a heavy cannon.
Swat 3 (Mirage 4000)
Mirage 4000
Heavy Aerial Cannon
4x HSM
8X AGM
2x Flares
Regardless, you miss, and the enemy pilot seems unfazed, continuing to tail Crux. He fires off another burst, damaging the starboard aileron. Crux's maneuverability is now severely hampered.
"Crux, Immelmenn!" I say as a lock on and fire a missile at the attacker.
The enemy drops flares and breaks hard to port. The missile goes for the bait, but Crux is no longer being tailed.
I rip off one cannot burst as I pull up, maybe I'll get a futile hit.
A flak burst materializes immediately above the Jaguar's roosterpit, and the plane stops maneuvering, slowly losing altitude. It's not hard to guess what just happened.
Oracle: "Heads up, We've got more naval contacts entering the AO. Three more corvettes and a trio of hovercraft, bearing 190 degrees and moving fast. The corvettes are launching helos, they'll be all over the naval yard any minute."
Current enemy forces in the AO:
5 SEPECAT Jaguar strike craft
1 Naval Frigate
6 Littoral Combat Ships
3 Transport Hovercraft
3 Tiger Attack Helicopters
There's a difference between AGMs and anti-ship missiles.
No one has anti-ship missiles. I'm guessing to Qwepir right now for the sake of the RP it's all the same. I just want to make sure.
Okay look, I'm not an aviation dork of the same caliber as Gojira or xxxxkill. When they're running the missions you can have all the masturbatory munition material you want, but when I'm running one there are "Anti-Surface" missiles that are
only for boats and tanks and such, and "Anti-Air" missiles that are
only for airplanes and helicopters and cruise missiles and rocket ships. Maybe later things will get really funky and you can have radar-guided or dual-purpose missiles or whatever.
