1-2: VALHALLA AWAITS!

The A-10s loop back for another cannon strafe, this time dropping several dozen rockets on top of the remaining Huitz forces. Explosion after explosion rips through the enemy forces, one stray rocket manages to knock down a tree. For several minutes, dust hovers above the site. Finally, a panicked driver in a Land Rover manages to slam on the pedal and drive out of the cloud of dust.
...straight into the minefield. The Land Rover is blown into the air, inertia carrying its wreckage across more mines still, causing a few bits of shrapnel to actually clear the field entirely. When the debris finally settles, there is nothing left but twisted metal, little bits of corpse, and the occasional burning fire from an exploded fuel tank or two. Or ten.

Command: Nice work, Mjolnir and Valkyrie. Return to base and rest up, this'll put a chink in the Huitz war machine, an entire god damn regiment was completely destroyed today.

After-battle report:
Enemy losses:
16x Land Rover
12x Ocelot Scout Car
8x MWMIK Jackal
10x Warrior IFV
6x Scorpion Recon Vehicle
12x Challenger Tank
20x Transport Truck
4x Trojan CEV
786 Casualties

Allied losses:
A whole lot of ammo

Psh no being a Captain has to have /weight/ to it.
Although all Second Lieutenants will be promoted to First.

Command: "When Captain Steele and First Lieutenant Daxton's location is confirmed, we will send in a strike force to rescue them and any other prisoners of war that will be found. Until then you will have to sit tight."

okay

"Got it."
Obrad lands his plane, taxiing back to hangar and cleaning off. He changes out of his flight suit and grabs his laptop, sitting down in his bunk. He sighs.
"I haven't rested in a day or two."

You get herded off the ship and once your eyes adjust to the light you are greeted with a rather nice view of the Tehuitepetl skyline. The Huits' unique "new-world" architecture is readily apparent, even in their skyscrapers. It's very hot and humid there, but fortunately your destination is an air-conditioned prison bus, which takes you to the designated captive holding area. Once there, you get put into cells (naturally, Steele and Dax get put in the same cell) and get used to your new living area and conditions. Two relatively nice beds (compared to your NAUC bunks), a television set (good luck understanding anything on it, but at least gladiatorial matches are televised), a desk and some writing materials, two square meals per day, occasional required chores, and a period of "free time" which can be used for exercise, visiting the library, or being tutored in this crazy new language you have a feeling you're going to need to get to know. The guards in this facility also seem much less beaty-uppy than the ones on the ship, sometimes even seen making idle conversation with other slaves-to-be.
